Impact Glass Doors
In the past few years, there has been a great rise in activity throughout the hurricane season. Also, the severity of hurricanes and storms has increased. Powerful winds and storms have become a routine in Florida. For all these reasons, impact glass doors and windows have become a favorite choice for property owners. It’s because these types of doors and windows provide the best protection against storms and hurricanes. Also, they provide safety against UV rays, intruders, and also effectively decrease noise.
Impact glass doors are made with impact-resistant laminated glass that has several benefits over ordinary glass.
The key advantage of impact-resistant glass is that it is hard to break. It means it can withstand high-speed storms and winds without breaking into small, sharp pieces. Even if the impact glass breaks, it remains attached to the frame through its inner vinyl layer, instead of entering the property. In this way, both the inhabitants and precious belongings can remain protected inside the property even when there’s a high-intensity storm outside.
There will be the least chances of break-ins if you have installed impact glass doors as it will be difficult for intruders to break the impact-resistant glass. In 2013, security video footage was shared by the Department of the Broward County Sheriff in which robbers shoot and kicked an impact-resistant glass door nine times, but remained unsuccessful in breaking the glass. They couldn’t enter the home and left empty-handed. So, prefer installing impact glass doors in your house to keep you, your family, and your home interior protected from intruders.
It is necessary for humans and pets to remain protected from ultraviolet rays. Also, you must take the necessary steps to protect your home belongings from UV rays. It’s because it can help decrease heat transfer in addition to protecting your house and fixtures from fading. Furnishings like photos, furniture, and hardwood floors that are nearby the doors and windows can be affected from fading because of harmful UV rays entering your house. However, several features of impact-resistant glass help enter the ultraviolet rays inside the property to decrease heat transfer as well as fading. The decrease in heat transfer makes the impact glass doors and windows more energy-efficient in comparison to standard products.
Impact glass doors and windows are the best replacement for plywood and hurricane shutters, providing passive safety during storms and hurricanes. Also, they help decrease noise, allowing you and your family to get a comfortable night’s sleep, even if there’s a heavy storm or rain outside. Even you don’t need to worry about outside noise if you are living near a park or highway.
These are a few reasons why homeowners are interested in replacing their ordinary doors with impact glass doors. Another term used for these doors is hurricane doors. Besides protection from storms, hurricanes, intruders, and UV rays, impact glass doors also beautify your house. Here at Doralum, you can get impact glass doors in a variety of styles and sizes, depending on the architecture of your home.
