Code approved
Impact doors of reputed manufacturers can easily hold up the strict building codes of your city or state. For instance, Doralum is the leading manufacturer of impact doors and manufacture our doors in accordance with Miami-Dade County codes. These doors have a tear-resistant inner layer which is inserted between the two glass panes to build a sturdy glass unit. When debris or projectiles hit the doors, their outside layer may break, but the tear-resistant layer prevents their entry inside the home or office.

I didn’t know that these glass doors can keep the inside of your home comfortable because of the coating it has. I’m interested to learn if other types of glass doors would have different coatings or if it’s only impact glass.

October 21, 2019, 7:11 pm REPLYThat’s good to know that impact glass would be good for louder areas. I feel like that would be nice since I live on a busy street. I’ll have to keep that in mind if I decide to replace my current entry door on my house.

December 12, 2019, 2:30 pm REPLYI’m having a new home built, but I just found out from a new neighbor that there are a lot of storms in the area. It makes sense that I would want to ensure that my doors and windows are sturdy! I’ll be sure to have very strong materials used for them. That way, I can ensure that they withstand the winds and any flying objects.

That’s a good point about making sure the doors are sturdy and how they reduce sound for louder areas. I’ll be sure to find some quality doors that can help lower my insurance premium as well.
